Today I wanted to share my easy 5 steps morning skin care routine that will leave you with that glazed donut glow and healthy skin.

Whatever I do to my face I also do to my neck and upper chess, because those parts are also prone to aging and sun damage. The products I use, are for all skin types, so if after reading this you feel ready to embark on your skin care journey I will add the link to the business I order from.
"The best foundation you can wear is glowing healthy skin." -Nicole Valek
You hear so many things about skin care products, regimens, and SPF (sunscreen), but how often do we find products that are nontoxic, black owned, for all skin types, natural, and just made with love. For me I like my products just like the company I keep around me NONTOXIC ;)! So let's dive into why sequence matters and a step-by-step- guide of my morning regimen.
Why Sequence Matters!
When I started my journey I did ample research, and actually DM'd the business I was looking to buy from to get answers to all my questions. I never had a skin care routine, because I always had good healthy skin. However, like most I was very naive to how not having a skin care routine was truly affecting my skin in the long haul.
My first question was, 'does the sequence really matter?"
The answer is yes!
Applying your products in the proper order ensures that your skin receives all the benefits of each product.
"If you don't apply products in the correct order, you will not see the best results from your skin care regimen." - Dr. Heather Rogers
When I say sequence try applying your products from thin to thick like antioxidants and serums first, then emollients, humectants and moisturizers last, your skin will thank me later ;)!
My Morning Skin Care Routine
Do you know the reason why there are two different skin care routines day & night?
I'll tell you!
It's because the morning routines purpose is to protect you from the sun, pollution, and the elements according to Dr. Rogers.
Step 1: Cleanse
In the morning, make sure your hands are clean before touching your face. Wet face a little then apply your preferred cleanser. I use the turmeric face bar , make circular motions for about 1-2 minutes on your face neck and upper chest. Rinse off with warm water.
Step 2: Tone
Spray either directly on skin or on an exfoliating cotton pad and let dry before proceeding to next step. A lot of people don't use toners because of the bad rep its given. However, the toner I use Rosedew leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft.
Step 3: Special Products
Such as eye creamers, spot treatments, medications, etc. I don't apply my eye creamer until night time, so I normal skip to the next step in the process which is hydration.
Step 4: Serum
As my supplier calls it "face crack", this Rosehip Serum truly leaves your skin glowing. In the process it is giving your skin vitamins & minerals that fight acne, help even out skin tones, and promote healthy skin cell growth.

Step 5: Moisturizer
Locking in your hydration with a good Daily moisturizer to help as you go throughout your day is very important. Even for people with oily skin, having that extra hydration helps fight off the sun and other harsh chemicals you will encounter.

Step 6: Sunscreen (SPF)
Always make sure this is the last step in your skin care routine. It's purpose is to block the UV rays of the sun, I recommend using a physical or mineral type of sunscreen so you can apply after your moisturizer and get all the protection from the sun and still have hydrated skin. I would recommend using Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, its the best, smells good, and for all skin types.
I've named and linked all the products I use in my morning face routine, thanks to The Melanated Bar for bringing my skin care routine to life and also introducing me to Supergoop!
